Types of motorsport
The members of Borough 18 Motor Club are involved in a wide variety of motorsports. Our main activity for many years was rallying both stage and road. But we are now fortunate to have many experienced members that compete in most disciplines and they are all on hand to provide advice and guidance to new members who wish to follow similar routes.
A great intoduction to B18MC would be to attend a club night and talk to anyone, they will be more than happy to explain all the different disciplines and how someone can start in motorsport.
Of course, not everyone wants to drive a car there are opportunities for people to be a passenger for example as a navigator.
People are always required to be marshals at events and get close to the action without competing. Marshals have so many opportunities to become involved from running a control to timekeeping and flag marshalling. There is also the very important work, in the background, to organise, administer and run events. There is something for everyone. Whatever skills you have they can be put to good use and and there will be many opportunites to learn new skills.
The following sections provide a basic description of the main "Clubman" motorsport activities with a bias towards the events carried out by our members.
